i.saw.the.devil is a 2010 American psychological thriller film written, produced, and directed by Scott Derrickson about a man's experience of an evil spirit after he buys an Ouija board during his bachelor party. A DVD was released on February 8, 2011 on the Anchor Bay label. The film stars Erika Christensen as Dawn, Dakota Fanning as Alice and David Hewlett as Steve "Rabbit" Wardbeck with Matt O'Leary, Haley Joel Osment and John Goodman in supporting roles. It was filmed in Los Angeles and New York City between April and June 2010. The DVD and Blu-ray were released on February 8, 2011, by Anchor Bay Entertainment. The film has been shown as a double feature with "Birdemic: Shock and Terror" as the fake trailers in the horror compilation "After Dark!" A sequel to "i.saw.the.devil" titled "The Gracefield Incident" was announced in January 2017 by producer Jason Blum, but as of now is not officially confirmed or greenlit by a distributor.

"i.saw.the-devil" received mostly positive reviews. Rotten Tomatoes reports that 92% of critics gave the film a positive review based on 166 reviews with an average rating of 6.9/10; the consensus states: "A clever twist on the traditional haunted house yarn, "i.saw.the-devil" brings originality and some terrific scares to the genre." Metacritic reported an average score of 69 out of 100, based on 31 reviews, indicating "generally favorable reviews". John Anderson from "Variety" wrote that The performances are terrific in this smartly designed modern horror movie that plays with classic ghost story conventions without being entirely derivative... The movie also has its share of creepy moments, although the horror elements aren't quite as startling as they should be.

The film was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award in 2010. The film was later nominated for a Fangoria Chainsaw Award in 2011, and won the award for "Best Special Effects." It also nominated for Best Sound Editing by the Motion Picture Sound Editors. Rob Nelson's score earned him an Achievement in Music nomination at the Oscars.
